students pay
for the programs.
That said, help may be closer to home. Start your search at your colleges and universities, specifically within departments such as History, Archaeology and Anthropology. You also might want to try state and local historical societies.
Archaeological Institute of America: The congressionally chartered organization devoted to the world of archaeology offers a fieldwork scholarship worth $1,000 and other fellowships and grants.
Archaeology Abroad: Based at the Institute of Archaeology at University College London, this fieldwork guide offers between £100 and £200 to help subscribers with dig costs.
Biblical Archaeology Society: The BAS offers scholarships of $1,000 every year to needy diggers. Click here for more information.
